The perfect family Sunday grazing and running amuck in Queen’s Park

On Sundays we love spending a family day out in Queen’s Park, enjoying all that this somewhat undiscovered part of London has to offer. We start off by milling about the beautiful boutiques on Salusbury Road, perhaps taking in breakfast at Gail’s, one of my favourite local cafes. Or if it’s lunchtime we’ll head to Salusbury Farmers’ market and have a delicious, fresh burger. The range of fresh produce here is fantastic and there’s also a great selection of breads, pies and cakes to treat yourself to.

After fuelling up, we take a short walk to Queen’s Park Gardens where there is plenty to absorb the attention and energy of little ones. The children’s playground is one of the best I have ever seen – home to a giant sandpit, it’s a brilliant place for them to let off steam and run amuck. There’s also a paddling pool which provides a welcome retreat in the warm summer months, and across from the playground is a Children’s Animal Farm where you can feed and pet the animals.

Being able to spend a day in one place, doing things we can all enjoy together without having to stray too far is a real treat. In my opinion, Queen’s Park has all the makings of a perfect local family day out.
